Respite Care

The family caregiver and grandparents 60 years of age or older raising grandchildren are able to receive respite (time off) through the National Family Caregiver Support Program.

Eligible families can receive assistance vouchers every three months to purchase respite care. Respite care range from a few hours to a weeklong service, depending on the needs of the families. It can take place in the caregiver's home, the home of a friend or relative, or adult day care center.

Caregivers interview, select and hire the respite provider as well as set the rate of pay.

NODA area Agency on Aging is a funding partner to ORRN (Oklahoma Respite Resource Network) to provide caregiver and families with respite care.
